"Karabakh conflict should be settled only through peaceful negotiations" - Karasin

"The sole real perspective for the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is peaceful negatiotions", the  Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin told in an interview to "Izvestia" newspaper while answering the question on the possible perspectives in the direction of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement under the new leadership of Armenia, AzVision.az reports.

He said that the Azerbaijani and Armenian people's vital interest in security, stability and development constitute a political force of the negotiation process and Russia in its turn supports it.

Being one of the OSCE MG co-chair countries, Russia closely cooperates with France and USA. According to the co-chairs' common line of work and the decisions adopted on the conflict, we also try to provide all possible assistance to the conflicting parties to develop the peace process. Our stance on this issue remains unchanged. This position, reflected in the Russian foreign policy concept, has been confirmed during Vladimir Putin's recent meetings with Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents", Karasin said.
